Dreamy Orange Creamsicle Shake

3 ingredients and 5 minutes is all that is standing between you and this fabulous Dreamy Orange Creamsicle Shake. It's bursting with orange flavor and is incredibly creamy. It is an amazing treat that will knock your socks off!

minutes is all that is standing between you and this fabulous Dreamy Orange Creamsicle Sh Dreamy Orange Creamsicle Shake

Do you remember those orange ice pops with the cream filling? I absolutely loved those growing up and those are exactly what I was thinking of when I developed this fabulous shake.

I knew however it all came together it had to be easy. Time is a commodity that I don't give away easily.

I believe that simple cooking should taste great and that is where International Delight comes in. The Fat-Free & Sugar-Free French Vanilla flavor has been my favorite lately.

Adding the creamer to this recipe in place of heavy cream, not only saves on sugar and fat grams (a nice addition), it really packs a wallop of flavor.

This Dreamy Orange Creamsicle Shake comes together in just 5 minutes and is a perfectly satisfying treat that is light on the hips.

I really try to make some smart choices to save a few fat grams here and there and this Orange Creamsicle Shake is the perfect way to save those grams so I can enjoy a treat without the guilt.

So tell me, how do you keep your self in check? What little things do you do to make a better you?

Best Ever Tropical Fruit Salad + VIDEO

Best Ever Tropical Fruit Salad is the only recipe you'll ever need. My entire picky family devoured this fruit salad. The dressing is truly magical. The combination of citrus juices with honey are phenomenal in the fruit salad dressing. Then we added a few special ingredients that give it a little nuttiness and a touch of zestiness to kick it up a notch. Perfect any-occasion dish.

How to Make Fruit Salad

Fruit salads are a pretty reliable sign of spring and warmer weather around here. We love fruit in our house, we eat it year round, but come spring our counters and refrigerator are packed with fresh fruit.

I love how bright it is and love creating new dishes with it. Throughout the warmer months you will see fruit filled cakes, fruit ice pops, fruit ice cream and even fruit cocktails (the adult kind) in our house.

My entire picky family devoured this fruit salad Best Ever Tropical Fruit Salad + VIDEOThis past week we had a group party at the park with Munchkin's ATA (Taekwondo) friends and I wanted to bring something light and healthy, as temps here in Arizona hit 96 this past weekend.

I could only think of bringing ice pops or fruit and I figured fruit would travel much better in 96-degree temps.  I have to say it was a brilliant decision and I am pretty sure every drop was devoured, although I can't know for sure.

We did leave a little early. Chad mentioned ice cream and the next thing you know we were in the car driving to Dairy Queen. You know, priorities.  LOL

As I was saying, the fruit salad....  The very next day I decided to test the fruit salad recipe and I have to say the second recipe test resulted in my 'happy dance' AND a few pats on the back as I shouted out "I AM A GENIUS! OH MY GOSH, THIS IS DIVINE!"

Ok, so I guess you figured out that I love the fruit salad and you are probably wondering what is so special about it.

My entire picky family devoured this fruit salad Best Ever Tropical Fruit Salad + VIDEO

Tropical Fruit Salads are pretty fantastic on their own. I mean look at the players: pineapple, mango, kiwi, mandarin oranges and strawberry (for a pop of color).

They can certainly pull off a fantastic dish all on their own. But, you know how well lime compliments those tropical flavors, right? What about lime, honey, and ginger?

They are a  true flavor affinity! Then to kick it up a notch we added in lemon and more orange. Last, for a little nuttiness, I added poppyseed.

My masterpiece! The Best Ever Tropical Fruit Salad. This is the only one you need to try.

The ginger gives this fruit salad a little zestiness that really kicks it up a notch, but it is subtle enough that no one will really be able to put their finger on the flavor.

Enjoy, oh and bring the recipe. People will be asking for it!

Helpful Tips to make Best Ever Tropical Fruit Salad:

  • This fruit salad is fabulous with whatever you have on hand. I love carambola (star fruit) and papaya in this salad as well.
  • Bananas are lovely, but have to be added at the last minute or they will get soft and not look pretty.
  • If you want to make the salad ahead, prepare the dressing and store it in the refrigerator in a mason jar until 30 minutes or so before you are ready to serve. Shake the dressing, pour over the salad and toss to combine.

What you will need to make Best Ever Tropical Fruit Salad:

  • Citrus Juicer - This makes juicing the lime much easier. Plus you’ll get every last drop out.
  • Microplane/Zester - This is great for zesting citrus. I also use mine to grate garlic.
  • Colander - Washing fresh fruit is much easier with a colander. Plus it’s great for draining pasta too.

Enjoy!

Orange Honey Glazed Ham

Best Ever Orange Honey Glazed Ham recipe starts with a bone in ham and a glaze that will absolutely blow your mind. A few simple ingredients come together to create the most glorious ham you have ever tasted. It is sweet, tangy and utterly divine.

recipe starts with a bone in ham and a glaze that will absolutely blow your mind Orange Honey Glazed Ham

It is truly the best ham we have ever eaten. It's had rave reviews from everyone who has tried it. In fact my husband has eaten so much ham over the last month that I am pretty sure he is going to turn into a ham sandwich.

Interestingly, I just recently found out that my husband LOVES ham. You might think this is an odd thing to discover after 19 years together, but alas I honestly I had no clue.

Last month we were talking about what we wanted for Easter and he blurted out "why don't you ever cook ham"? Well, that was all it took, 1 month and 4 hams later we now have a family favorite. I guess you could say that I made up for lost time.

Looking for the perfect ham, I turned to our friends at Jones Dairy Farm.  They are all-natural, gluten free and offer a full range of products that are still made the old fashioned way.

And that my friends makes for the best ham we have ever tasted, hands down. I know you are anxious to try it and believe me, this ham will be the centerpiece of our table.

recipe starts with a bone in ham and a glaze that will absolutely blow your mind Orange Honey Glazed Ham
Caramelized bits of orange rind from the marmalade speckle the top of the ham and compliment it with bright flavor.

Marmalade combined with honey and brown sugar makes it perfectly sweet and the consummate compliment to the hickory smoked ham, with a subtle hint of warmth from the cloves and a touch of spice from the mustard this is honestly the best ham you will ever eat. Can't wait to get your hands on it, I know!

Being this was my first (four) time(s) cooking ham, I guess I should mention it was also my first time carving a ham so I got some great pointers from this fantastic video.

Helpful Tips to make Slow Cooker Orange Honey Ham:

    • Glaze can be added to the slow cooker in the beginning, but I like to drizzle a little of it over the ham as it cooks - so the ham isn't boiling in the glaze.
    • If you notice your glaze is too thin and watery, pour the liquid into a sauce pot and cook down to reduce in half and then slowly add glaze every 1/2 hour for the final two hours of cooktime.
    • If you need a little more crunch to your ham, you can remove from the slow cooker and add to a cooling rack over a baking sheet, and bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees to get a bit more - but I'm always surprised with how well I get a baked crunch when making ham in the slow cooker!
    • Don't drown the ham in glaze (and other liquids), or it won't make the crunchy caramelized sugar crust so many people love about a good holiday ham dinner! Let your ham have room to cook and form a crust - drizzling glaze over the ham throughout cooking time will help!

What you will need to make Slow Cooker Orange Honey Ham:

    • Slow Cooker - the slow cooker is almost my most used kitchen gadget, especially during fall/winter! It's just so convenient, and lets face it, it makes comfort food taste even better!
    • A sharp knife or Mandoline slicer

    Enjoy!

Helpful Tips to make Hawaiian Cheesecake Salad:

    • Do not pour all of the creamer into the cream cheese at once. It will get clumpy, and no matter how long you beat it, it will stay that way. Trust me on this one.
    • If the cream cheese and pudding mix get too thick, add in a splash of the cream to loosen it up. Then proceed with the recipe, minus the splash you already used.
    • If you have to substitute for the creamer, use 1 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup powdered sugar, and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.

To make Hawaiian Cheesecake Salad Ahead:

    • Prepare the cheesecake mixture and refrigerate in a bowl or sealed jar.
    • Combine all of the fruit in a large bowl and refrigerate.
    • Before serving, drain any excess liquid from the fruit and then fold the cheesecake filling into the fruit. Serve and enjoy!

    Hawaiian Cheesecake Salad

Hawaiian Cheesecake Salad comes together so simply with fresh tropical fruit and a rich and creamy cheesecake filling to create the most glorious fruit salad ever! Every bite is absolutely bursting with island flavor and you are going to go nuts over this recipe!

    Ingredients

    • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
    • 1 (3.4-ounce) package instant cheesecake pudding, unprepared
    • 1 cup International Delight French Vanilla Creamer (liquid)
    • 1 pound strawberries, hulled and sliced
    • 4 mandarin oranges, peeled and sectioned
    • 1 (20-ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained
    • 3 kiwi, peeled and cut into half moons
    • 2 mangoes, cut into bite size chunks
    • 1 banana, cut into coins
    • juice of 1/2 lemon

    Instructions

How to Make Hawaiian Cheesecake Salad

    1. In a medium tall bowl (I use my 8 cup measuring cup), using an electric mixer, whip cream cheese until it becomes smooth. It may bind up in the beaters, but continue as is and it will loosen up.
    2. Add the dry pudding mix. Beat until well combined. If the mixture is too thick you can add a splash of the measured creamer to losen it up.
    3. With the mixer on low, slowly add the remaining creamer to the cream cheese mix. Add it about a tablespoon at a time and then mix until it becomes a smooth mixture and all of the creamer has combined into the cream cheese, repeat until all of the creamer has been added to the mixture. Whip until smooth.
    4. In a large bowl, combine strawberries, oranges, pineapple, kiwi and mango.
    5. Add the cheesecake mixture to the fruit. Gently fold cheesecake mixture into fruit.
    6. In a small bowl combine the banana coins and the lemon juice. Toss until well coated, drain the excess lemon juice. Gently fold the banana into the cheesecake salad.
    7. Chill until ready to serve or serve immediately.
    DONNA'S NOTES
    1. Do not pour all of the creamer into the cream cheese at once. It will get clumpy and no matter how long you beat it, it will stay that way. Trust me on this one.
    2. If you have to substitute cream for the creamer, powdered sugar and vanilla would be the best swap. 1 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup powdered sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
    3. If you are using canned fruit be sure to drain it completely.
    4. To make this ahead: prepare the cheesecake mixture and refrigerate in a bowl. Mix all of the fruit in a large bowl and refrigerate. Before serving, drain any excess liquid from the fruit and then fold the cheesecake filling into the fruit. Serve and enjoy!
