Mmmm, who’s up for some juicy pork chops!? You know, the other white meat! This recipe for Parmesan Pork Chops is perfect for busy weeknights or any time you need an easy dinner.

The crispy Parmesan crust adds tons of flavor without any extra fuss. Perfect!

Hi! It’s Erin from Suburban Simplicity.  I’m sharing a simple and tasty dinner idea today I think you’re gonna love! Over at Suburban Simplicity, we’re all about simple recipes.

How to Make Parmesan Pork Chops

Let’s get this easy meal going!  I’m teaching my girls how to cook, and this easy recipe is one we’ve made together.  You’ll need four boneless pork chops.  The thickness is up to you.

Next, you mix the Parmesan, breadcrumbs, and spices together in a shallow bowl.  You can use a plate as well if that’s easier for you.

This is where you dredge the pork chops and make sure you get them nice and coated.  Pat some of the mixture into the meat if necessary.

Now it’s time to put your pork chops in a pan to crisp them up for about 5 minutes per side.

I love using my cast iron pan because it goes from stovetop to oven with ease.  However, you can also use a regular pan and transfer to an oven-safe baking dish too.

After frying them, place your chops in the oven to bake.  Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of your chops.

To finish them off and add a little crispness, you can broil them for a couple of minutes.

Speaking of simple recipes, of course our new cookbook {The Simple Kitchen - available to order now}is packed with delicious, easy recipes.

Helpful Tips to make Parmesan Pork Chops:

  • The thinner your pork chops, the more quickly they’ll cook. I recommend a meat thermometer so that you cook them perfectly every time.  Dry pork isn’t good!
  • Pork is done when it reaches an internal temp of 145 degrees.
  • You can skip the skillet browning step if you’re in a real rush.  Just spray your pork chops with cooking spray to get them lightly browned in the oven while they bake.
  • Another way to bake them is to place them on a baking rack over a pan so air can circulate and they crisp on all sides.
  • This easy family recipe is great with veggies, rice or your favorite mashed potatoes.

What you will need to make Parmesan Pork Chops
  • Cast Iron Pan - a cast iron pan is perfect to go from stovetop to oven with ease!
  • Meat Thermometer - a must when cooking pork and other meats to the perfect temperature.

Enjoy!

Crock Pot Ranch Pork Chops + VIDEO

Crockpot ranch pork chops are ultra-tender with a scrumptious cream sauce. This easy recipe will make you fall in love with pork chops again (or give you a new way to love them!) Just mix a creamy base with a blend of herbs and layer it on top of boneless pork chops in a crockpot and you’ll be all set for an easy dinner!

This easy recipe will make you fall in love with pork chops again Crock Pot Ranch Pork Chops + VIDEO

Crock Pot Ranch Pork Chops have become the newest addition to our dinner rotation because they answer my three main requirements:

They’re easy (check!)
They’re delicious (check check!)
They make great leftovers (check x 3!)

And honestly, isn’t that what we all want in a meal? After a long, busy day, the last thing I want to do is feel trapped in the kitchen and making boneless pork chops in a crock pot (with cream of mushroom and ranch seasonings for that added dose of flavor) is my new way to find more relaxation time in my day.

Plus, it certainly doesn’t hurt that everyone in my house loves how they taste.

Should the pork be boneless or bone-in?

I chose to make boneless pork chops in a crock pot for this recipe, but ultimately, picking boneless or bone-in is totally up to you.

However, if you’re on the fence on which to choose, here are a few pros and cons:

With boneless, there’s no need to worry about picking out the bones. They’re easier to serve and will be easier on your budget.

With bone-in, you get the added flavor of cooking with the bone, which can sometimes make or break a recipe. However, crock pots will make the meat very tender and a hard bone can sometimes cause the meat to fall apart while serving.

How to Make Ranch Pork Chops in a Crock Pot

The true beauty of a crock pot recipe is how easy they are to make, and cooking pork chops in a crock pot is a perfect example.

Step 1 – Mix up the creamy ranch by adding cream of mushroom, dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, dried basil, and black pepper to a small bowl and mixing together. I like to use a hand mixer on low to break up the cream cheese, but you can also use a spatula and some elbow grease.

Step 2 – Add your pork chops to your crock pot, arranging them in an even layer.

Step 3 – Spread the creamy ranch mixture on top of the pork chops. Only worry about covering the tops – as the pork chops bake, the sauce will melt and coat the sides of the pork.

Step 4 – Cover and cook.

Step 5 – Serve and enjoy!

Can you use a dry ranch packet instead?

Yes, you can use a 1 oz ranch packet (just the powder, not the mixed dressing) instead of the herbs (dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, dried basil, and black pepper).

But if you do this you might also need to increase the white wine from 1/3 cup to 2/3 or 3/4 cup.

When mixing, start out adding 1/3 cup and do a taste test. Only add more white wine if you find the ranch flavor overpowering. If it is, add another 1/3 cup and see if it helps. Continue adding white wine until you find a balance you like. If needed, you can go up to a total of 1 whole cup of white wine help even out the flavor.

How long to cook pork chops in a crock pot?

For this recipe, the “standard” crock pot times apply:
If cooking on HIGH, cook for four hours.
If cooking on LOW, cook for eight hours.

As for my personal recommendation, I think the pork chops come out better when cooked on LOW. So if you have the time to spare, I highly recommend setting aside eight full hours for cooking.

What to serve with crock pot pork chops?

You can serve these pork chops on a bed of pasta as pictured (I used spaghetti but you can also use linguine or angel hair) OR you can whip up some white or brown rice instead.

Air Fryer Pork Chops (Boneless)

Air fryer pork chops are boneless pork with sweet and savory flavors. Make this easy pork chop recipe for a healthy weeknight dinner.

are boneless pork with sweet and savory flavors Air Fryer Pork Chops (Boneless)
I am all about using my air fryer lately. It's a wonderful way to keep the kitchen cool in the summer. And, it is so much healthier than deep-frying your foods.

Have you had a chance to try any of my other air fryer recipes?

This air fryer baked potato has crispy skin without any oil. And, it's light and fluffy on the inside.

Or, my air fryer fried chicken lets you enjoy the taste of fried chicken with a fraction of the fat and calories.

Tips for Making Air Fryer Pork Chops

This air fried pork chop recipe comes out crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.

It's an easy air fryer recipe you can have on the table in less than 30 minutes. It's perfect for busy nights and weekends.

Tools needed to make this recipe
How long do you air fry pork chops?

I air-fried my pork chops for about 14 minutes. It was the perfect amount of time for 1 1/4" thick pork chops.

But, you will need to preheat your air fryer and allow them to sit for 5 minutes. This brings the total preparation time up to about 25 minutes.

Will the recipe work using bone-in pork chops?

Yes, this recipe will work for both types of pork chops. But, the preparation time is for making boneless pork chops in an air fryer.

If you are cooking bone-in pork chops, they will need to cook longer.

How many can you cook at once?

This will really depend on how large your air fryer is. If you're asking is it ok to stack them, I don't recommend it.

An air fryer basket is fairly small. So, it is tempting to place things close together or stack them on top.

But, one of the most important things you need to do is to leave room for the air to circulate. This results in the best taste and proper cooking.

Place only as many pork chops in your air fryer as will fit and allow space to circulate. This will be between two and four depending on the size of your air fryer.

are boneless pork with sweet and savory flavors Air Fryer Pork Chops (Boneless)

Proper internal temperature for pork

When making these air fryer pork chops, keep in mind that the proper internal temperature for pork is 145 according to the US Pork Board.

It's very important that you use a meat thermometer to be sure your pork is cooked completely.

Time will vary depending on if you are cooking bone-in or boneless pork chops. And, it will depend on how thick your chops are.

So, using a meat thermometer is really the best way to check.

If you're looking for air fryer pork chops with no breading, you are in luck.

I make boneless pork chops in an air fryer using a rub. The result is sweet and smoky, and in my opinion, so much better than adding breading or batter to your pork chops.

The recipe for the rub is enough for 2 servings if you use my recommendation of 1 tablespoon per pork chop.

In my opinion, nothing is worse than pulling out all of my spices to make a rub and realizing I don’t have enough and have to make more!

More pork chop recipes

There are so many delicious ways to make pork chops that I never run out of ideas. You might want to take a look at these recipes and try them soon if you need a few more ideas.

What should I serve with these pork chops?

If you're wondering what sides to serve with this recipe, why not try a few of these.

Or, you can always keep it simple and serve a loaf of crusty Italian or French bread and a side garden salad.

Enjoy!

Air Fryer Pork Chops

Air fryer pork chops are boneless pork with sweet and savory flavors. Make this easy pork chop recipe for a healthy weeknight dinner.
Prep time: 5 Minutes Cook time: 17 Minutes Total time: 22 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 thick cut boneless pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
For the rub
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes
  2. Blot pork chops with paper towel
  3. Drizzle a small amount of olive oil on each pork chop, rub all over and don’t forget the sides.
  4. Combine all spices for the rub, you’ll have some leftover depending on how much you use for each pork chop. I used a 1/2 tablespoon per pork chop.
  5. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon on the top of each pork chop, then rub it in until it absorbs into the meat a little bit. Flip the pork chop over and repeat with another 1/2 teaspoon of the rub mixture. Use your hands to season the sides with another 1/2 teaspoon.
  6. Spray your air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent the pork chops from sticking.
  7. Place the seasoned pork chops in the preheated air fryer with room around them for the air to circulate. My pork chops were fairly big, so I cooked them 2 at a time. Bake for 14-17 minutes total,(depending on the thickness of your pork chops. Mine were about 1-3/4 inches thick and 17 minutes was perfect), flipping halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Remove the pork chops and place them on a serving dish to rest for 5 minutes. This is a small extra step that helps your pork chops remain moist and flavorful!
  9. Garnish with fresh thyme if you’re feeling fancy!
DONNA'S NOTES
  1. The recipe for the rub is enough for 4 servings if you use my recommendation of 1/2 tablespoon per pork chop. In my opinion, nothing is worse than pulling out all of my spices to make a rub and realizing I don’t have enough and have to make more!
  2. For 1 1/4-inch thick pork chops 14 minutes was perfect in my air fryer.

What is the best potato to use for scalloped potatoes?

When making traditional scalloped potatoes or potatoes au gratin, you really want a starchy potato that will hold up well during baking and such as a Russets or Yukon Golds.

Visit the product locator on the Jones Dairy Farm website to find their products at a store near you.
  • You can make this recipe in one 9x13 or split it up into 2 (8-inch x8-inch) or similarly sized pans. I used two 7-inchx10-inch here.
  • Pre-shredded cheeses have additives to help keep the cheese from sticking together, called anti-caking agents. They also change the way the cheese melts and will cause thickening of your recipes. Skip the pre-shredded cheese and grate your own. All of my recipes call for freshly shredded cheese. I store it in a zip-top bag in the fridge and it keeps for several weeks.
  • When making cheese sauces and cheese-based soups, be sure to add the cheese slowly over low heat, or your sauce could become grainy. Reheat cheese sauces and soups low and slow to maintain the smooth texture.
  • You can halve this recipe for occasions when you are not cooking for 12 or freeze the leftovers.

What you will need to make Cheesy Sausage Scalloped Potatoes:

    • Mandoline slicer - This slicer is perfect for making easy work of uniform fruit or vegetable slices. I must have bought and returned 6 mandoline slicers before this one.  This one, I have had for 7 years and I still love it.
    • Cutting Board- A big good solid cutting board so you can prep all your veggies on one surface.  I use my cutting board daily so it’s worth the investment.
    • Quality Knives- Quality knives make prep time much quicker and are important for safety as well.  If you make one kitchen investment, I believe it should be in quality knives.

    • 12 ounces (3 cups) freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese
    • fresh chives, chopped divided

    instructions:

How to cook Cheesy Sausage Scalloped Potatoes

    1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Butter a 9x13 baking dish. Set aside.
    2. In a large (10 inch) skillet cook pork sausage links uncovered over medium-high heat with 5 tablespoons of water for 6 minutes. Uncover and continue cooking for 2 minutes, until golden brown, turning frequently. Transfer sausage to a small cutting board and allow to cool. Once cool, slice sausage into coins.
    3. Meanwhile: add butter to the skillet and cook until completely melted. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add flour and whisk for about 2 minutes to cook out the 'flour-y' taste.
    4. Slowly pour milk into the skillet while whisking constantly. Use the whisk to scrape up the browned bits on the bottom of the skillet. Continue to whisk occasionally until bubble start to break on the top, allowing the mixture to start to thicken, about 2-3 minutes.
    5. Reduce heat to low and slowly sprinkle in Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Whisk until completely melted and smooth, about 1 minute. Set aside.
    6. Arrange a layer of potatoes in the baking dish (use about half of your slices). Then pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes. Sprinkle half of the remaining cheese over top of the sauce. Sprinkle 1/2 of the sausage coins over the cheese.
    7. Spread the remaining potato slices over the cheese. Add the remaining cheese sauce. Sprinkle the remaining sausage coins over top of the cheese sauce. Top the sausage coins with the remaining cheese.
    8. Cover the baking dish with aluminium foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for another 30 minutes, or until potatoes are cooked through and tender. Total cook time is 60 minutes.
    9. Garnish with chives. Serve and enjoy!

What You'll Need for Smoked Corn on the Cob

Of course, you will need your smoker and your favorite flavor of wood chips to make this recipe. You will also need a large pot of water to soak the corn in. This prevents the corn from drying out.

What type of wood chips are best for smoking corn?

Any flavor of wood chips will work well with this recipe. But, applewood smoke is a nice pairing with chicken.

Other options include peach, cherry, hickory, mesquite, and maple.

Remember to try a variety of different types because when you smoke foods, they take on the flavor of the wood chips you use.

Should the husks be removed or left on?

I gently pull back the husks and carefully remove the silk when I'm preparing this recipe. Then, I fold the husks back over the corn to cover them before placing the cobs in the smoker.

You don't have to cover the corn with the husks if you don't want to. Another option is to fold the husks back and tie them with twine to make a handle.

Or, you can remove the husks completely before you put them in the smoker. It will have a beautiful golden color that's infused with the flavor of your wood chips.

Does the corn need to be washed or soaked?

I like to soak the ears for at least an hour and preferably overnight before I place it in the smoker. This helps prevent your kernels from drying out while it's smoking.

You don't need to wash the corn before you prepare it. But, you certainly can if you want to.

    How can I store leftovers?

If you have leftovers, you can simply wrap them in foil and place them in the refrigerator. They will stay good for up to five days that way.

Or, if you want to freeze your leftovers so that they last longer, you can do that as well. Wrap them in foil first and label them with a marker.

You can keep them for up to four months this way. When it's time to reheat them, just let them thaw in the refrigerator overnight.

Then, when you want to reheat your corn, unwrap the corn and add a teaspoon of water along with some salt and pepper. Wrap it back up and reheat it at 350F for five to seven minutes.
