A few years ago I created my first ever crockpot candy recipe and it has gone wild on our site ever since. So, this past Christmas I decided to make a variation.

And so, Crockpot Chocolate and Caramel Pecan Clusters (AKA Turtles) were born. Truly genius and amazing, if I must say so myself!

With spring upon us, I was up for a new magnificent creation and I have to say, I have outdone myself.

This recipe is amazing with rich vanilla candy coated peanuts topped with festive candy and sprinkles. You are going to love them!

Helpful Tips to make Easter Crockpot Candy:

  • You can make this recipe with Candy Quick, Almond Bark (not actually made with almonds), vanilla candy melts and even white chocolate in this recipe. I have tried them all and we have loved every one.
  • You can use two spoons to drop the candy onto your parchment paper but using a tablespoon scooper is my preferred method. It assures all of the candy will be the same size and it is easier and less messy.

What you will need to make Easter Crockpot Candy:

  • Vanilla Candy Coating - You can use Candy Quick, Almond Bark (not actually made with almonds), vanilla candy melts and even white chocolate in this recipe.
  • 4-6 Quart Slow Cooker - This is my favorite.
  • 1 Tablespoon Scooper - This is one of my favorite kitchen tools. It is perfect for candy making, meatballs and so many more recipes.
  • Crockpot Liners - I never use them because I wash the crock when it is still a little warm and the candy comes right out, but if you are worries about the cleanup, these are foolproof.
  • Parchment Paper-

Enjoy!

Crockpot Candy (VIDEO)

Crockpot Candy is the easiest and most impressive homemade candy ever. A rich chocolaty, peanutty 4 ingredient recipe that you simply toss in the slow cooker, stir a few times and scoop it out. It doesn't get much easier than that!

I have a thing for peanut clusters, but the thought of melting the chocolate over the stove or in the microwave, only to have it thicken so quickly because it is chilly in the house frustrates me to no end.

Then I remembered this crockpot candy that I have spotted all over the internet. I know I have professed my love for simple recipes over the years, but I have to tell you this may be my favorite candy recipe ever. It doesn't get much easier and the taste is phenomenal.

Crockpot Candy is the easiest and most impressive homemade candy ever Crockpot Candy (VIDEO)I have been really loving my crockpots lately. Honestly, I only cook a few times a week and then we reheat our dinners the other days.

I don't know how that happened, but I like it and it works for us. As of late, on the cooking days, you will find a slow cooker (or 3) on the counter.

When I started thinking about candy making, the slow cooker was on my mind and this recipe immediately popped in my head.

So I sent Chad to the store to grab a few things and I had candy in just a few short hours (start to finish while my daughter napped).

Rich and chocolaty this recipe is so easy to make it will certainly become a family tradition.

We have a thing for peanut clusters around here. And the ease of making Crockpot Candy makes it an absolute favorite.

Do I have to make St Patrick's Day Crockpot Candy in a slow cooker?

You can prepare this on the stovetop if desired. But, the slow cooker gives you a no-fuss recipe and keeps the melted chocolate melty and easy to work with while you are scooping it out.

Can I substitute chocolate chips for the vanilla candy coating?

You can use white chocolate chips or Wilton Candy Melts in place of the vanilla candy coating. I generally use almond bark that you can buy at Wal-Mart. It is what my mom used for peanut clusters and I keep it on hand.

What is vanilla candy coating?

Vanilla candy coating (commonly known as almond bark) is a chocolate-like candy made with vegetable fats instead of cocoa butter. It melts evenly without tempering and is great for candy making.

Can I freeze St Patrick's Day Crockpot Candy?

Allow candy to cool completely. You can toss it in the fridge to speed the process up. Place candy in an airtight container, or in a zip-top freezer bag with the air pressed out. Candy will keep in the freezer for 6 months. Be sure to defrost before serving.

How to Make St. Patrick's Day Crockpot Candy

  • Combine peanuts and candy coating in the slow cooker on low.
  • Cook, covered for 1 hour.
  • Stir.
  • Cook for another hour.
  • Stir in all but 1/2 cup of M&M's.
  • Scoop candy, decorate and allow to set up.

  • 48 ounces vanilla-flavored candy coating (Almond Bark or CandiQuik)
  • 11.4 ounces Dark Chocolate Mint M&Ms
  • Garnishes: seasonal sprinkles (I used shamrocks, gold coins, and green & white jimmies)

Instructions

    1. Layer peanuts and then vanilla candy coating into the crockpot (I used a 5-quart). Cover. Cook for 1 hour on low temperature without lifting the lid. After 1 hour, stir the mixture and continue to cook, stirring every 15-20 minutes for another hour (a total of 2 hours).

    DONNA'S NOTES

    1. Crockpot Candy will keep in the freezer in an airtight container or a ziptop freezer bag for 6 months. Be sure to defrost before serving.
    2. If you wish to have flatter (easier to bite into) candies, use the back of the scooper to press down the candy a bit before it is garnished.
    3. If your kitchen is cool your candy may set up faster. Keep an eye on it and add garnishes after the first dozen or so have been scooped so they do not dry before you can decorate them.

Helpful Tips to make White Chocolate Peppermint Crockpot Candy:

      •  I like to use a mix of white chocolate chips and melting chocolate wafers. The latest are creamier, therefore they give the candy that velvety texture. If you can't get your hands on melting chocolate wafers (aka candy melts), do NOT substitute with chocolate chips, but rather use same amount of a good quality white chocolate bar. Keep in mind, you need good white chocolate for this recipe to taste amazing!
      • Do NOT try to take a shortcut and cook the candy on High, the recipe doesn't take long to make on the Low setting. If you cook it on high, chances that some of the chocolate will burn are very high.
      • You can substitute some of the nuts if you are allergic or just don't like some.
      • Yes, you can make this recipe without the peppermint candies, if you are not a fan.
      • Very important: don't forget to stir, this will ensure uniform cooking.

What you will need to make White Chocolate Peppermint Crockpot Candy:

      • Slow Cooker - the slow cooker is almost my most used kitchen gadget, especially during fall/winter! It's just so convenient, and lets face it, it makes comfort food taste even better!
      • White Chocolate Chips - I buy them in bulk, I always have some on hand.
      • White Chocolate Melting Wafers - These are of high quality, creamy and specifically designed for melting and candy making.

      Enjoy!

      Bunny Bait Funfetti Popcorn (Video)

Bunny Bait Funfetti Popcorn is a fun and festive recipe that comes together in 15 minutes. It is perfect for Easter and the kids are going to love it! And the adults too.

is a fun and festive recipe that comes together in Bunny Bait Funfetti Popcorn (Video)
Spring is such a fun, festive season, and that is never more apparent than with treats like this bunny bait.

Between the bright pastel colors, the fun sprinkles, and the tasty sweet and savory combination, what more could you ask for in a snack to celebrate the season?

Well, that is, other than an adorable bunny reference. Because it simply isn’t spring without some bunnies.

And just like it’s impossible to separate bunnies from spring, it’s impossible not to find joy in a big helping of this bunny snack mix. Plus, this recipe is great for gifting, so you can spread the joy around!

How do you make bunny bait?

Not only is this recipe great for any spring holiday or event, but it’s also easy to make. However, you do need to be quick, so make sure you have all of your ingredients ready.

To make bunny bait, all you need to do is:
      • Prepare the ingredients, such as popping the popcorn and breaking apart the pretzels.
      • Heat the candy melts and pour them over popcorn, M&M’s, and pretzels.
      • Quickly transfer the coated popcorn to a baking sheet, then decorate with sprinkles.
      • If you’d like, drizzle with more colorful candy melts.
      • Let cool.
      • Break apart and enjoy!

What toppings can you add to bunny bait tail mix?

In addition to using the traditional M&M’s and pretzels, you can also try adding the following:
      • Reese's pieces
      • Small gum drops or gummy bears
      • Candy eggs
      • Nuts (peanuts, walnuts, cashews, etc)

      Bunny Bait Funfetti Popcorn

Bunny Bait Funfetti Popcorn is a fun and festive recipe that comes together in 15 minutes. It is perfect for Easter and the kids are going to love it! And the adults too.
prep time: 15 MINScook time: total time: 15 mins

      Ingredients

      • 2 cups vanilla candy melts (Wilton, Almond Bark or CandiQuik are great)
      • 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped)
      • 12 ounces pastel M&M's
      • 1 1/2 cups pretzels, each piece broken in half
      • 1/2 cup sprinkles, any festive style
      • 1 cup colorful candy melts, optional

      Instructions

      1. Line a large baking sheet (18 x 13 or similar) with parchment paper, then set nearby.
      2. Place popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl, then add M&M’s and pretzels on top.
      3. In a medium bowl, heat vanilla candy melts per package instructions until smooth.
      4. Pour melted vanilla candy over the popcorn mixture, then use a spatula to quickly (but gently!) toss and stir until the candy melts have coated all of the ingredients. Be careful not to stir too long; you don’t want the candy to harden yet.
      5. Transfer coated popcorn mixture to the prepared baking sheet and spread out into an even layer.
      6. While candy melts are still wet, sprinkle with festive sprinkles as desired.
      7. If you’d like to add more color, heat some colorful candy melts and drizzle them on top of the bunny bait.
      8. Let bunny bait dry completely (about 1 hour), then use your hands to gently break it apart into snack-sized pieces.
      9. Bunny bait can be stored at room temperature in sealed bags or a container for up to 5 days.
