This is one of the many reasons
we are so excited to be partnering with Jones Dairy Farm again. February is National Hot Breakfast Month, I don't know about you, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE breakfast. But I just don't have the time to cook up my favorites in the morning. That is exactly why our friends at Jones Dairy Farm created this super fun website JonesBrinner.com. They want to help you enjoy the breakfast foods that you love at your dinner table. I'm game!!!

The site is packed with fabulous brinner recipes, cooking tips and a pretty fun quiz. And of course the RECIPE for this burger. You have to check it out. My favorite thing on the site is the cooking tips for eggs.

I may have never shared this with you, but I am pretty talented in the kitchen. I can cook a lot of things and bake my little heart out. However, eggs...  UGH! They are my nemesis. Over easy, sunny side up, scrambled, omelets, soft boiled, hard boiled. It is one food that really challenges me. I have to say that I mastered hard boiled eggs last summer. I was feeling pretty good, then I had this amazing idea for this Royal Bacon Breakfast Burger and I knew that I had to come through.

After 2 attempts and some fantastic tips, voila! Perfect sunny side up eggs. I can't believe it! Chad was thrilled as he loves 'em and I haven't made them successfully until now. I mean, he did get some really awesome fried eggs.  LOL. You know when the top just won't cook, you flip it. hahaha

Seriously check out the Egg Cooking Tips, you will thank me.

This burger is quite the masterpiece, with that perfectly cooked sunny side up egg on top. Chad loves to get the royal burger when we go out to eat, so I decided to take it one step further and whip up an amazing breakfast burger. It all starts with crispy hash browns topped with a cheeseburger, 2 kinds of bacon and the sunny side egg on top served on a toasted English muffin. Oh my heavens.

That is the most magnificent brinner recipe! You are going to love it.

Philly Cheese Steak Burgers - Gourmet Burger Recipe

Make Philly Cheese Steak Burgers with this gourmet burger recipe! Featuring sauteed peppers and onions plus smoked provolone cheese sauce. They are SO delicious and perfect for dinner tonight!
sauteed peppers and onions plus smoked provolone cheese sauce Philly Cheese Steak Burgers - Gourmet Burger Recipe

It is any surprise that a carb nut like me would love sandwiches too? Well of course not.

That is one of the things that I loved about New Orleans. They could be in the running for the sandwich capital of America with all those fabulous Po'Boys and Muffalettas!

Another city that thrills me for its fabulous sandwich representation is Philly. I mean can it really get any better than a Philly cheese steak sandwich?

Once you taste a cheesy Philly Cheese Steak Burger you might think so.

Philly Cheese Steak Burgers

I love Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches. The soft white bread with thinly cut slices of steak, topped with gobs of provolone cheese, and of course, sauteed peppers and onions. My mouth waters even at the thought.

So, for your devouring pleasure I bring you the Cheesy Philly Cheese Steak Burgers.  A fabulous burger loaded with steak flavor and topped with sauteed peppers, caramelized onions and the most delicious smoked provolone cheese sauce you have ever eaten.

Chad and I went nuts over these burgers. This is an amazing gourmet burger recipe, and if you dare to make a double batch of smoked provolone cheese sauce, it is amazing on fries too!

Pro tip for making any gourmet burger recipe:

  • Use a gentle touch - When you are making the patties, be careful not to over work the meat mixture, because too much handling creates tough, dry burgers.
  • Don't press down - Try to avoid pressing down on the burgers while they are cooking. All this does is squeeze out the juicy goodness from inside the burgers.

What you will need to make Cheesy Philly Cheesesteak Burgers:
    • Mixing Bowl- I like a variety of mixing bowls and prep bowls and this set has them all.
    • A large skillet with a lid – To help the pasta cook evenly, a wide skillet works best, ideally one that’s more than 12 inches in diameter.
    Enjoy!

    Philly Cheese Steak Burgers

Make Philly Cheese Steak Burgers with this gourmet burger recipe! Featuring sauteed peppers and onions plus smoked provolone cheese sauce.

    Ingredients

    Burgers
    • 2 pounds ground sirloin or chuck
    • 1 tablespoon Montreal grill seasoning
    • 1 tablespoon A-1 Steak Sauce
    • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
    • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
    Toppings
    • 1 large yellow onion
    • 2 bell peppers (I used 1/2 each: red, orange, yellow and green)
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
    • Kosher salt
    • Fresh ground black pepper
    • 4 hamburger buns  (I love these homemade buns)
    • 1 recipe Provolone Cheese Sauce

    Instructions

    1. Combine burger ingredients in a large mixing bowl.  Mix with hands to combine.  Do not over mix.
    2. Form beef into 4 patties, slightly larger than your bun.  Make a slight indentation in the center of the burger to prevent it from doming up in the center. (The indentation will rise as your burger cooks).  Set aside while you prepare the toppings.
    3. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium high heat, add onions.  Toss to coat, cover and cook for 20-25 minutes until onions are caramelized, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
    4. Meanwhile in a large skillet over high heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter.  Add sliced peppers, toss to coat.  Cook until peppers are soft.  Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
    5. Preheat grill to high.
    6. Grill until golden brown and slightly charred (about 3 minutes), turning once (cook for 3 minutes on the other side for medium). Close grill cover.  Try not to press down on your burger with a spatula. It will cause the juices to escape and will create a dry burger!
    7. Toast buns on low or indirect heat.
    8. To dress burger:  Place a burger on toasted bottom bun, top with 1/4 of the sautéed peppers and onions, and a heaping spoonful of smoked provolone cheese sauce. Then, top with a toasted top bun.
    9. Serve and enjoy!

    50/50 Beef Bacon Burger

Our 50/50 Burger is most definitely the most divine burger you will ever sink your teeth into. Smoky bacon and ground beef come together in the most spectacular way in this simple recipe. The real trick is how to get the bacon in there and after a lot of testing, I finally figured it out. And you are going to flip over this one!
is most definitely the most divine burger you will ever sink your teeth into 50/50 Beef Bacon Burger

This burger brings back so many amazing memories. It was the summer of 2011. We were planning the menu for our barbecue for the following weekend when one of our friends launched into a story about this burger place in California that makes a beef and bacon burger. It's called the 50/50 burger. I had never been to the restaurant, but a burger made half of beef and half of bacon sounded like something I needed to taste for myself!

We got to work on testing the recipe. We tried many different methods of combining the beef bacon to get it just right and then we chopped it up and added it to our ground beef. Magic. Pure magic.

Let me just say, OH MY GOSH!!! I can not get over this burger. It was absolutely one of my favorite burgers ever, and I am so excited to share it with you.

The magic of this burger is the Applewood smoked bacon. It adds so much flavor to the burger that you don't need to add anything else.

Just choose your fixin's. We loved everything from mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion to just cheese and bacon strips on top.

No matter how you top it, this burger is one you will remember.

      50/50 Beef Bacon Burgers

Our 50/50 Burger is most definitely the most divine burger you will ever sink your teeth into. Smoky bacon and ground beef come together in the most spectacular way in this simple recipe. The real trick is how to get the bacon in there and after a lot of testing, I finally figured it out. And you are going to flip over this one!

      Ingredients

      • 1 pound thick cut Applewood smoked bacon
      • 1 pound 85% lean beef
      • 4 hamburger buns
      • butter
      • 4 slices American cheese
      • optional toppings: (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, pickles)

      Instructions

      1. Cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Place bacon on foil. Make sure the bacon is not touching. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the bacon is partially cooked. Remove and place on paper towels to drain the grease. Once bacon is drained and cool enough to handle, place on cutting board and dice bacon or cut with kitchen shears.
      2. Preheat grill to high.
      3. In a large bowl combine bacon and beef. Mix until combined. Form mixture into 4 patties, not too thick or they will not cook evenly. Using your thumb, make a slight indentation in center of patties on one side to prevent it from doming up in the center.
      4. Place patties on the grill, make sure they are not touching.  Grill burgers until golden brown and slightly charred on the first side. Flip and grill for 3 to 5 minutes depending on your preferred doneness.
Top with cheese for the last few minutes.
      5. Meanwhile, Brush your buns with butter and toast on the grill. Cook until golden brown with grill marks.
      6. Serve with your favorite toppings.
      7. Enjoy!

Meat Lover's Cheesy Stuffed Pizza Burgers

is a combination of two of our family favorites Meat Lover's Cheesy Stuffed Pizza Burgers

Labor Day marks the end of 'grilling season' for some. Luckily, we live in Arizona, with our gorgeous weather we can grill throughout most of the year. Regardless we love having parties every year to mark the end of summer. We celebrate the end of unbelievable temperatures (110 and above) and welcome the cooler season.

This past weekend we had a little summer party and of course, burgers were on the menu, but I kept thinking about grilled pizza. We have been enjoying pizza on the grill, and I was really craving it. I came to the only logical solution. I decided to combine our two loves: pizza and burgers. The ultimate pizza burger was on its way.

It takes a really special burger to compare to our fabulous homemade pizzas. So, I went all out and loaded this creation with our favorite toppings! Our favorite pizza is the meat-lovers, and it comes with beef, sausage (sometimes double), pepperoni and bacon.

That favorite pizza was the delicious inspiration for this burger recipe. Meat Lover’s Cheesy Stuffed Pizza Burger is fully loaded with beef, sausage, bacon and stuffed with mozzarella cheese. Then the burger is cooked to perfection on a grill.

It's served on a toasted ciabatta bun with more cheese, pepperoni, and your favorite marinara. Now, that’s love! Cheesy Stuffed Pizza Burgers are ready in just 30 minutes and will certainly be the star of your get together!

Come on, get your grill on!

      Enjoy!

      Cheesy Stuffed Pizza Burgers

Meat Lover's Cheesy Stuffed Pizza Burger is a combination of two of our family favorites. Burgers and pizza come together to create this flavor sensation! This outrageous burger patty consists of 3 meats and is stuffed and topped with ooey gooey cheese. It is a simple recipes and one that you absolutely have to try!

      Ingredients

      • 1 pound lean ground beef (about 80%)
      • 1 pound mild ground Italian sausage
      • 1 pound bacon
      • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
      • 1 (7 ounce) package pepperoni slices
      • ten slices provolone cheese
      • 6 ciabatta buns
      • 1/2 cup marinara sauce

      Instructions

      1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
      2. Dice bacon into small pieces. You can use kitchen shears to make it easier. Combine the cut bacon, beef, and sausage in a large bowl. Mix them until just combined. Overmixing can cause the meat to be tough, and that does not make for a good burger.
      3. Divide the beef mixture into 12 (4 ounce) portions and form into patties that are a little bit bigger than your bun. Add two tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese to the middle of 6 of the patties.
      4. Then place a patty without cheese on it over the cheese topped patty. Use your fingertips to pinch around the patties to seal them closed.  Repeat until all burgers are formed.
      5. Place your burgers on the grill. Allow the burgers to cook until you reach your desired doneness. Use a grill spatula to flip the burgers. Only flip them one time. If the burger gets stuck to the grill, it is most likely not ready to be flipped.
      6. Cook time for medium cooked is about 4 minutes on each side. Close the lid to cook through. If you need to, you can relocate the burgers to indirect heat for several minutes to finish cooking.
      7. Use a bread knife to slice ciabatta buns in half to create a top and bottom bun. Place the buns cut-side down on the grill and cook until toasted.
      8. Top the burgers with approximately ten pepperoni pieces and a slice of provolone for the last few minutes of cooking. Close the lid to melt the cheese.
      9. Place about 10 pepperoni on each bun, then top with about a tablespoon of marinara. Place burger on the sauce and place the top bun on the sauce.
      10. Serve and enjoy!

      Spicy Buffalo Chicken Burger

Spicy Chicken Buffalo Chicken Burger recipe is the fusion of hot buffalo wings and a burger. It is truly the best of both worlds. A moist and flavorful chicken burger with enough kick to make your taste buds stand at attention. It is served on a soft pretzel roll with creamy blue cheese crumbles. It is a fave and you are going to love it too.
recipe is the fusion of hot buffalo wings and a burger Spicy Buffalo Chicken Burger

I created this burger for Chad, my awesome husband.  His love of way too spicy hot sauce and buffalo wings coated in said 'burn your face off' hot sauce was the inspiration for this burger.

Right away I knew that the burger needed to be on a pretzel bun; this recipe linked to is a fabulous definition of what a pretzel bun should taste like.

It is firm and pretzely on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside.  What a magical combination!

Now I can't speak much of buffalo wings as they are on my list of things I don't eat.

Maybe my mom dropped me on my head when I was a baby or perhaps I am just weird.

Who knows, but I am going with the latter.

This Buffalo Chicken Burger on the other hand was my perfect opportunity to create my perfect version of Hot Buffalo Chicken wings the way I see them and it was a total success.

I started with spicy chicken sausage to pull in the flavors of the buffalo wings and its also something I can eat.

Then, I added honey and  butter to the hot sauce to sweeten it up and give it a silky finish.  Its just hot enough to make your mouth tingle, the perfect heat to make both of us happy.

Then, I incorporated the blue cheese that is usually served with hot wings and it made for a fantastic combination!

This burger is really simple, but sooooo amazing!  So cancel your dinner plans you are going to want to make this ASAP.  Oh, and don't forget the beer, you are going to LOVE this!

are an epic twist on the classic burger recipe Sausage Summer Sliders
We are so excited to be partnering with our friends at Jones Dairy Farm to bring you my new favorite summer slider!

It's is like your favorite pork and apples in a tiny burger. It couldn't be easier with one of my favorite ingredients: All Natural Golden Brown® Pork Sausage Patties!!!

are an epic twist on the classic burger recipe Sausage Summer Sliders

Burgers are always a crowd pleaser during the summer. And pork and apples are one of my favorite combinations!

When I was trying to think of the perfect new slider, the vision of a sausage summer slider with pork, barbecue sauce and sweet and tangy apple slaw was born.

It is absolutely amazing. Every bite is an explosion of flavor!

are an epic twist on the classic burger recipe Sausage Summer Sliders

What is the best sausage to use in Sausage Summer Sliders?

You really want to start with a sausage patty that has fantastic flavor and one that is good enough to stand on its own.

Jones Dairy Farm sausage is absolutely amazing! With big bold flavors packed into a little patty these all-natural sausages are incredibly versatile and can be used for any meal breakfast, lunch or dinner.

They are fully cooked and contain no nitrates or nitrites, no preservatives, and no MSG. And they are made with just five ingredients: pork, water, salt, spices and sugar!

are an epic twist on the classic burger recipe Sausage Summer Sliders

What kind of buns do you use with sliders?

The type of bun that you use with a slider really depends on what kind of slider you are serving and what the toppings are. If you are serving a really saucy Chicken Parmesan Slider, a soft toasted Hawaiian bread, or a firmer ciabatta is the perfect match.

With a soft and tender Cheesy Sausage and Egg Breakfast Sliders a sweet Hawaiian roll was again the perfect match.

For this Sausage Summer Slider with bbq sauce and crispy slaw topping we opted for a brioche dinner roll that was perfectly sized for our sausage patties!

Helpful Tips to make Sausage Summer Sliders:

        • Jones Dairy Farm All Natural Golden Brown® Pork sausage patties add tremendous flavor to this recipe but you can easily form your own patties with their pork breakfast sausage roll. Visit the product locator on the Jones Dairy Farm website to find their products at a store near you.
        • You can make these ahead and keep them tented with aluminum foil in a disposable pan for the perfect tail gating meal!
        • If you prefer you can use thinly sliced green cabbage and julienned carrots in place of the cole slaw mix.

What you will need to make Sausage Summer Sliders:

          • Mandoline slicer - This slicer is perfect for making easy work of uniform fruit or vegetable slices. I must have bought and returned 6 mandoline slicers before this one.  This one, I have had for 7 years and I still love it.
          • Cutting Board- A big good solid cutting board so you can prep all your veggies on one surface.  I use my cutting board daily so it’s worth the investment.
          • Quality Knives- Quality knives make prep time much quicker and are important for safety as well.  If you make one kitchen investment, I believe it should be in quality knives.

          Enjoy!

The sounds of summer in the air had me whipping off my grill cover and dusting off my grill this weekend.  Chad has been talking about having a fine steakhouse burger all week.  When I say he has been talking about it, I mean it!  This is how our good nights went last evening.  Me:  "Goodnight baby."  Chad: "So, what do you think about having burgers tomorrow".  Really?

Once menu requests sneak into your goodnights...  It's serious.

I started thinking and planning my next burger masterpiece.  I have really been diggin' cooking with beer lately.  I love the flavor it imparts into a dish.  So, I decided to add some beer into our steakhouse burger.  That and some smoky flavor create a fabulous base for this gourmet burger.

This smoky beer burger is topped with barbecue sauce, cheese and caramelized beer onions.  It comes together in just 30 minutes.

Helpful Tips to make Steakhouse Smoky Barbecue Beer Burgers with Caramelized Beer Onions:

          • 80/20 beef makes for the best burgers!
          • Mix until just combined. Overmixing will create a tough burger and that isn't good for anyone.
          • Resist the temptation to press down on the burger with a spatula. It doesn't make them cook faster, it just presses out the juices and all the flavor, leaving you with a dry burger. Again, no one wants that!
          • Preaheat your grill to medium or medium high.
          • Make a slight indentation in the center of the burger on one side to prevent it from doming up in the center. The indentation will rise as your burger cooks.

What you will need to make Steakhouse Smoky Barbecue Beer Burgers with Caramelized Beer Onions:

          • A large skillet with a lid – To help the pasta cook evenly, a wide skillet works best, ideally one that’s more than 12 inches in diameter.
          • Large Mixing BowlI like a variety of mixing bowls and prep bowls and this set has them all.
          Enjoy!

The burgers are a really beefy, steak-like burger prepared with a dark and smoky beer, this one is loaded with beer caramelized onions and your favorite barbecue sauce.

          Ingredients

          • 1 large yellow onion
          • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
          • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
          • 2 1/2 pounds lean ground beef (about 80% lean)
          • 3 cloves garlic, minced
          • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
          • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
          • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
          • 2 teaspoons spicy Montreal steak seasoning
          • 1 (12 ounce) bottle dark beer, divided
          • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
          • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
          • kosher salt
          • 6 ounces KC Masterpiece Smoky Bourbon Barbecue Sauce (or your favorite)
          • 6 hamburger buns
          • 6 slices of cheddar cheese
          • 6 tablespoons mayo
          • lettuce

          Instructions

How to cook Steakhouse Smoky Barbecue Beer Burgers with Caramelized Beer Onions

          1. Warm a 10” skillet over medium-high heat. Meanwhile, slice onion. Add butter and onion to skillet. Sprinkle with sugar. Stir to combine. Stir occasionally until onions start to brown, about 6 minutes.
          2. Preheat grill to medium or medium-high.
          3. While onions are cooking, combine beef, garlic, paprika, cumin, steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and 4 ounces of beer in a large mixing bowl. Mix to combine. Portion beef mixture and form into patties slightly larger than your bun. Don't overmix. Make a slight indentation in the center of the burger on one side to prevent it from doming up in the center. The indentation will rise as your burger cooks. Set aside.
          4. Pour remaining beer into skillet with onions. Stir to combine, cover and cook for 15 minutes, or until beer evaporates.
          5. Brush burgers with olive oil and lightly sprinkle them with salt.
          6. Place burgers on grill with the indentation side facing up. Close lid and cook for 3 minutes. Flip, brush with barbecue sauce and grill for 3 minutes on the other side. Toast buns on grill.
          7. Assemble burger. Spread 1 tablespoon mayo on each bottom bun. Add lettuce, burger, cheese, caramelized onion and remaining barbecue sauce.
          8. Serve and enjoy!
